Diyarbakır Airport Transfer
How do I get from Diyarbakır Airport to the city centre?
There are three options: the municipal bus, a taxi from the rank, or a private transfer booked in advance. Bus lines such as Z2, Z3 and Z7 link the airport with the centre, but timetables change, so check the current schedule before you fly. Taxis wait outside the terminal, though queues can build after busy or late flights.
If you have a lot of luggage, travel as a group or are staying inside the old walled city of Sur, a pre-booked car is the easier choice. Your driver waits at arrivals with a name sign, tracks your flight and takes you straight to the door. See our Diyarbakır VIP transfer service for details.
How far is Diyarbakır Airport from the city centre?
Diyarbakır Airport (DIY) sits within the Bağlar district, roughly 7 km from Dağkapı, the gate that marks the heart of the city. That makes it one of the closest airports to its city in Turkey. The Ofis area of Yenişehir is a similar distance away, while the newer Kayapınar district, home to several chain hotels, can be a little further depending on the exact address.
The short distance means you reach your hotel quickly after landing, although traffic and one-way streets near the old city decide the last few minutes. Our Diyarbakır hotel transfer page covers the main hotel areas.
How long does a Diyarbakır airport transfer take?
A transfer from the airport to Dağkapı and the old city takes about 15 to 20 minutes in normal traffic. Yenişehir and the Ofis area take about the same. For hotels in Kayapınar or the bus station on the western side, allow a few extra minutes depending on the address. Rush hour and holidays slow the centre down.
Trips to the outer districts naturally take longer: Çınar is around 35 km away, Ergani 65 km and Silvan 86 km. When you enter your address at booking, the driver plans the route in advance. For trips beyond the city, see our Diyarbakır intercity transfer page.
Is there meet and greet for late-night arrivals?
Yes. Our booking and support line runs around the clock, so even if you land after midnight or before dawn, your driver will be waiting at arrivals with your name on a sign. Taxis can be slow to appear after late flights into Diyarbakır, which is when a pre-booked car makes the biggest difference.
Just add your flight number to the booking form. Because we track the flight, the driver adjusts to the actual landing time and there is no extra charge for delays. If you are travelling with family, choose the vehicle by passenger count. Read more on our Diyarbakır VIP transfer page.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
We follow your flight using the number you give at booking. If the plane lands late, the driver sees it in advance and is at arrivals for the new landing time. There is no extra charge for waiting caused by a delay, and you do not need to call us about it.
If your flight is cancelled or you are moved to another one, message our support line and we will move the pickup to match. Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the trip are free. Tracking only works with the correct flight number, so double-check it on the form. Our Diyarbakır VIP transfer page explains the service in full.
Where does the driver meet me at Diyarbakır Airport?
Your driver waits at the arrivals exit of the terminal, right where you come out of the baggage hall, holding a sign with your name. Diyarbakır Airport has a compact terminal, so the meeting point is easy to spot. Domestic and international arrivals may use different exits, which is why the flight details on your booking matter.
After booking you receive contact details so you can message the driver. A quick note once you have your bags speeds things up. The car waits in the car park, and parking is included in the price. Our Diyarbakır hotel transfer page shows where we can take you next.
