Diyarbakır is the main medical centre for south-eastern Turkey. Patients come from Mardin, Batman, Siirt, Bingöl and further afield for consultations, tests, surgery and follow-ups. These trips are often tiring: an early appointment, a companion, a folder of documents and sometimes a long wait. Our Diyarbakır hospital transfer makes the journey to Diyarbakır planned and predictable.
Please note: this is not a medical ambulance service. Our vehicles carry no medical staff, stretchers or medical equipment. In an emergency, call 112. The Diyarbakır hospital transfer is a scheduled ride for patients who can walk or travel seated (including in a folding wheelchair), together with their companions.
Hospital transfers are planned by our Diyarbakır City Centre branch, and patients arriving by air are met at arrivals by our Diyarbakır Airport branch with a name board. Prices are per vehicle with fuel and parking included. You pay on the day, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the transfer.
Who uses a Diyarbakır hospital transfer?
- Patients from neighbouring provinces coming to Diyarbakır hospitals for appointments or check-ups
- Patients being discharged after surgery and heading home or to a hotel
- People attending regular sessions such as chemotherapy, dialysis or physiotherapy
- Families flying in from abroad and going straight to hospital
- Relatives living elsewhere who need to get an elderly parent to an appointment
- Family members travelling together to visit a patient
Which hospitals in Diyarbakır do you serve?
The most common destination is the Dicle University hospitals. The Faculty of Medicine hospitals are the region's referral centre, and most patients referred from neighbouring provinces end up here. The campus is large, so tell us the building or clinic when you book and we will drop you at the right entrance.
Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital in Kayapınar and the private Memorial Diyarbakır are also frequent destinations. The 1,000-bed city hospital under construction in Kayapınar has not opened yet; its opening has been announced for 2027, and we will add it once it is in service.
How do you plan transfers to Diyarbakır for patients from other provinces?
Batman and Mardin are about 110 km from Diyarbakır, Elazığ about 160 km, Bingöl 170 km and Siirt 205 km. For an 8 a.m. appointment, a patient from Siirt may need to leave in the middle of the night. We work out the departure time with you, allowing for registration, parking and any slowdowns on the road. If a long journey would be too much for the patient, we suggest arriving the evening before and staying in Diyarbakır.
Companions travel in the same vehicle, and because pricing is per vehicle, anyone within its capacity rides at no extra cost. If you do not know how long the appointment will take, the driver can wait or a separate return time can be set. Longer trips are covered in more detail on our Diyarbakır intercity transfer page.
In winter, snow and ice are possible on the Bingöl and Elazığ roads, and the winding mountain roads from Kulp and Lice take time. A patient transfer is no place to rush, and our drivers put calm driving and regular breaks first.
What is done to keep the patient comfortable during the transfer?
Seating, ease of getting in and out, and breaks are discussed in advance. A folding wheelchair goes in the luggage space, and the driver helps the patient in and out of the car. Diyarbakır summers are very hot, so the car is cooled before the patient gets in; on early winter mornings it arrives warm.
Waiting space outside hospitals is limited. The driver drops the patient at the nearest possible entrance, parks where permitted and is back at the same point at the agreed return time.
What should you prepare before a hospital transfer?
For a patient travelling to Diyarbakır from another province, the worst outcome is a wasted day because a document was left at home. Before the transfer, gather ID, any referral papers, previous test results and a list of current medication in one folder, and confirm the appointment with the hospital the day before. The clearer your Diyarbakır hospital transfer booking is about mobility, companions and the return plan, the better the transfer can be planned. If the appointment carries over to the next day, the return transfer can be moved too.
Which vehicle is suitable for a hospital transfer?
- Private taxi / saloon: one or two passengers, for a patient and one companion on short city trips.
- Mercedes Vito: three to seven, with more room for a folding wheelchair and several companions.
- Mercedes Vito Business: up to six, for patients who want more seating space on a long trip. See Diyarbakır VIP transfer.
- Mercedes Sprinter: eight to thirteen, for larger family visits.

Frequently asked questions
Can this replace an ambulance?
No. Our vehicles are not ambulances and carry no medical staff or equipment. In an emergency, call 112.
Can a patient travel lying down?
No. The service is for patients who can travel seated. Patients who need to lie down require a patient transport ambulance.
Will the transfer driver wait if the appointment runs long?
The driver can wait. Mention it at booking so it can be planned; if a long wait affects the price, it is confirmed at booking.
Can you transfer a patient straight from Diyarbakır Airport to hospital?
Yes. We track the flight, the driver meets you at arrivals and takes you directly to the hospital. The airport is about 7 km from the city centre.
Is there a transfer charge for companions?
No. The price is per vehicle and covers everyone within its capacity.
Can regular treatment sessions be booked in one go?
Yes. Send us your weekly schedule and we will plan the transfers without you needing to book each session separately.
